The Broken Series

The Broken Series follows a guarded teenage girl carrying adult responsibilities. She’s emotionally closed off, living in survival mode, and hiding a heavy home life shaped by mental illness, poverty, and fear of being seen. A relationship pulls her out of isolation and into visibility and for the first time, someone notices her, protects her, and offers stability. The book lives in that tense space between needing connection and fearing what connection might cost.

The design was intended to visually mirror the emotional journey of the narrative, evolving from darkness and fragmentation toward clarity and resolution. Early covers explore themes of vulnerability, identity, and internal conflict through more intense compositions, deeper colour palettes, and symbolic elements such as the burning rose to represent pain, passion, and instability. As the series progresses, the visuals become increasingly open and refined, introducing warmer tones, softer lighting, and more balanced compositions to reflect healing and self-acceptance. This gradual shift from tension to stillness creates a cohesive visual arc across the series, where each cover stands alone while contributing to a broader story of transformation, resilience, and emotional growth.
